11 August, 2009: I spoke with Brian Carr, SVP of Media at NameMedia this morning both via email and phone. Mr. Carr’s team is looking at the issue and is considering removing the “nofollow” tag for “trusted” bloggers. If you’re concerned about your content appearing on their site, I suggest you contact NameMedia via the [...]

Tutorial: Even Stitches

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

Ever wondered how to get those perfect, even stitches that you see on amigurumi works by professional designers? You know, those stitches that look GREAT even in macro photography? It’s all about the tension, baby. Experienced knit and crochet mavens know that the key to beautiful stitches is even tension. For amigurumi, that means even, [...]

Tutorial: Stuffing Amigurumi

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

One of the things I quickly discovered when making amigurumi is that stuffing them is not as straightforward as you might think. Je suis Pamplemousse

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

Bonjour! I am Pamplemousse, cousin of Honey Bear. I appreciate the sweet, tart deliciousness of life. The holiday show is themed “Medium and Mini!: toys that are either just the right size for hugging or small enough to fit in your pocket, swing from a keychain, or be worn on a pin”. These nursery-rhyme-themed “minis” are [...]

Mortal Plush Opening

Saturday, July 11th, 2009

Today is the day! I am super-excited. This is the first show I’ve participated in, and frankly I’m over the moon. Tobiah‘s pictures from the gallery are up on Flickr. Her work is a study in contrast; the softness of needle felting and the feral strength of teeth. Wow. Reminds me of Joseph Beuys in [...]

Fielding the Mouse

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

Just finished writing up the pattern for Fielding the Mouse, my latest amigurumi pattern. He’d make a fun desk/cubicle buddy, and can’t avoid his destiny as a cat toy! Just stuff him with fiberfill and catnip, and let the games begin. Pattern available on Etsy and Ravelry. Let me know what you think.
